Just prior to filling up the County Commission chambers, Hamilton County, Tennessee residents join members of Chattanooga Organized for Action (COA) in a rally to support the funding of family planning services at the Health Department. A willfully ignorant majority of the all-male County Commission threatened the lives and health of thousands who rely on these services when they voted not to accept over $500,000 in grant funds at a previous meeting because they mistakenly believed abortion services were included. The rally, in addition to many phone calls and letters to County Commissioners and a highly informative presentation from the Health Department, resulted in a reversal of the Commission’s previous vote.
